Jagiellonian University in the “Cracow without borders” competition

“Cracow without borders” is an award that for several years has helped to promote good architectural practices and solutions, as well as initiatives, attitudes and undertakings that enable people with disabilities to participate in the life of the city.

Jagiellonian University was awarded in the “public buildings? category for the exceptional appropriateness of the solutions used to enable people with various types of disabilities to use the entire facility at the Małe Paderevianum building, the modernisation of which was completed in January 2023.

In the category of innovative technologies and innovative research projects, the main prize went to scientists from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow who, together with medical physicists and doctors from the Department of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Oncology at the University Hospital in Cracow, developed a technology for 3D printing of polymer inserts for eye applicators.

In the category of social projects and events promoting Cracow as a city friendly for people with disabilities, the main prize went to the Human Week – the Cracow Mental Health Week, organised by the University Hospital in Cracow in collaboration with Jagiellonian University and the Municipality of Cracow
