One-off financial support for Ukrainian citizens
Ukrainians are entitled to apply for one-off financial support in the amount of PLN 300. Any Ukrainian citizen who crossed the border with Poland on or after 24th February, and received a PESEL number can claim the benefit. The only centre in Krakow that accepts the claims is located in the TAURON Arena at ul. Stanisława Lema 7 (see map).
The application centre is open Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm.

Pomoc materialna UNHCR
Z funduszu UNHCR uchodźcy mogą otrzymać 710 zł na jedną osobę oraz 610 zł na kolejną w rodzinie (limit osób wynosi 4) przez co najmniej 3 miesiące. Pomoc ta nie jest związana z innymi programami wsparcia, które są udzielane w Polsce.
The 500+ child benefit for Ukrainian citizens
A child benefit paid from the 500+ program for every child until the age of 18 is available for:
- Ukrainian citizens or their spouses who left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict and arrived in Poland with a child after 23rd February 2022.
- Female Ukrainian citizens or the wives of Ukrainian citizens who left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict, arrived in Poland after 23rd February 2022, and gave birth to a child in Poland.
- Ukrainian citizens or their spouses who settled down in Poland before 24th February 2022, but whose children left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict and arrived in Poland after 23rd February 2022
- Citizens of other countries, e.g., Poland, who on the basis of a Polish court judgement are legal guardians of a child holding Ukrainian citizenship who left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict and arrived in Poland after 23rd February 2022
Applications are accepted by ZUS. The following details are required to submit an application:
- PESEL (Polish identification number) of both, the applicant and the child
- e-mail address
- Polish mobile phone number
- Polish bank account number
Applications for 500+ child benefit can only be submitted online via ZUS electronic system called PUE ZUS (Platforma Usług Elektronicznych ZUS). Log in instructions can be found on the ZUS website.
Family care capital
Rodzinny Kapitał Opiekuńczy (RKO) to świadczenie skierowane do rodzin z dziećmi, które ma na celu zapewnienie pomocy finansowej związanej z opieką nad drugim i kolejnym dzieckiem w wieku od 12. do 35. miesiąca. Świadczenie jest przyznawane bez względu na dochód rodziny. Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych (ZUS) będzie przyznawał Rodzinny Kapitał Opiekuńczy (RKO) obywatelom Ukrainy, którzy przybyli do Polski po 23 lutego 2022 r.
Rodzinny Kapitał Opiekuńczy może zostać przyznany, jeśli osoba składająca wniosek spełni wszystkie trzy warunki:
– jest matką lub ojcem dziecka z Ukrainy;
– jest obywatelem Ukrainy lub mężem/żoną obywatela Ukrainy;
– jest osobą, która przyjechała z Ukrainy do Polski w związku z działaniami wojennymi po 23 lutego 2022 r. wraz z dzieckiem albo zamieszkiwała w Polsce przed 24 lutego 2022 r., ale dziecko, na które aplikuje o RKO, przyjechało z Ukrainy do Polski w związku z działaniami wojennymi po 23 lutego 2022 r.
Wniosek o RKO został przetłumaczony na język ukraiński i można go złożyć elektronicznie przez Platformę Usług Elektronicznych (PUE) ZUS.

Financial support for the child’s stay in a nursery, children’s club or with a babysitter
A special benefit may be offered to a parent and a temporary guardian. The benefit includes financial support of PLN 400 per month for the stay of a child in a nursery, children’s club or with a babysitter.
An application for the financial support may be submitted:
‒ for the first and the only child in the family;
‒ for the first child in the family, if another child is entitled to Caregiving Capital for Family (Rodzinny Kapitał Opiekuńczy RKO);
‒ for the second and subsequent child in the family who is under the age of 12 months and above the age of 35 months for whom an RKO was granted and the benefit was collected in the total amount due.

Guardianship benefit for the temporary guardian of a child from Ukraine
A guardianship benefit may be granted to the temporary guardian of a minor Ukrainian citizen who stays on the territory of the Republic of Poland without adults who are responsible for the minor. The status of the temporary guardian is granted by a guardianship court.
A guardianship benefit is granted to a person who is not able to work due to the necessity of taking care of the child. In order to receive the guardianship benefit, a person has to fill an application form on the Electronic Services Platform (Platforma Usług Elektronicznych PUE) of the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) or submit the application to the employer if the person filing the application form is an employee or a contractor. The benefit is payable for 30 or 60 days in a calendar year, but the total period of the care benefit payment cannot exceed 60 days.

Programme of support for artists from Ukraine
The Municipality of Kraków has launched a program of support for artists who arrived from Ukraine after 24 February and who perform artistic or cultural activities. The support may be given to artists in the fields of visual arts, film, music, photography or other fields of culture or art. The program provides support for projects with gross costs between PLN 3,000 and 5,000.
Applications can be submitted by 26 May.
