The 500+ child benefit for Ukrainian citizens

Refugees from Ukraine can receive benefits from the program 500+

A child benefit paid from the 500+ program for every child until the age of 18 is available for:

  1. Ukrainian citizens or their spouses who left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict and arrived in Poland with a child after 23rd February 2022.
  1. Female Ukrainian citizens or the wives of Ukrainian citizens who left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict, arrived in Poland after 23rd February 2022, and gave birth to a child in Poland.
  1. Ukrainian citizens or their spouses who settled down in Poland before 24th February 2022, but whose children left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict and arrived in Poland after 23rd February 2022
  1. Citizens of other countries, e.g., Poland, who on the basis of a Polish court judgement are legal guardians of a child holding Ukrainian citizenship who left Ukraine as a result of the military conflict and arrived in Poland after 23rd February 2022

Applications are accepted by ZUS. The following details are required to submit an application:

  • PESEL (Polish identification number) of both, the applicant and the child
  • e-mail address
  • Polish mobile phone number
  • Polish bank account number

Applications for 500+ child benefit can only be submitted online via ZUS electronic system called PUE ZUS (Platforma Usług Elektronicznych ZUS). Log in instructions can be found on the ZUS website.
